'The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater'

Following late Thursday afternoon's surprise GUILTY on all counts verdict for ex-president and current front-runner for Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump, the Biden campaign warned that the threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater , and that the ballot box has never been so big. the only way to keep Trump out of the Oval Office.

“Today in New York we saw that no one is above the law,” Michael Tyler, communications director for Biden-Harris 2024, wrote in a statement to PoliticusUSA. “Donald Trump always wrongly believed that he would never face consequences if he broke the law for his own personal gain. But today's verdict does not change the fact that the American people are faced with a simple reality. There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: through the ballot box. Convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president.”

“The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater. He is waging an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retaliation, promising to be dictator “on day one” and calling for an “termination” of our Constitution so he can regain and retain power. A second Trump term means chaos, stripping away American freedoms and fueling political violence – and the American people will reject this in November.”

So is the Biden campaign fundraising on the judgment of their likely opponent, as anyone with a sense of politics would if he were in their shoes, with President Biden asking, “You know I hate to ask, but there couldn't be a more important time for you to to make the first donation to keep this man out of the White House once and for all.

Is this just politics? Obviously not. Today, for the first time ever, our country convicted a former president of a crime. This is historic. And of course, Trump is accused of much worse than the forged corporate documents case, even though it was itself a form of election fraud.

Trump also faces a Jan. 6 federal case related to his efforts to cling to power after losing a free and fair election and the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Trump also faces an election fraud case in Georgia, where he is on tape trying to convince election officials to overturn his loss by “finding” votes for him.

And Trump is also facing a classified documents case in Florida related to the retention and even sharing of highly classified classified documents, where his actions may have compromised the national security of the United States and our intelligence community.

Donald Trump is innocent until proven guilty in the above three cases, but has been found guilty of all 34 crimes in the Manhattan hush money case.

Given what's behind the allegations in the cases Trump continues to face, he's clearly not someone a normal political party would even want to endorse as a candidate for president. But we are long past those times.

This is the man President Joe Biden will have to fight to keep out of the Oval Office. Biden-Harris will need voters to do their job to ensure the White House doesn't turn into a den for an apparent career criminal and tried rapist, just as jurors in Manhattan faced the challenges of fulfilling their civic duty under mafia-like violence. threat from MAGA leader Donald J. Trump.
