Trump did not sound confident as he left the courtroom, but instead seemed intent on delivering a guilty verdict.

Trump said:
Listening to the accusations of the judge who, you know, is very conflicted and corrupt because of the conflict, very very corrupt. Mother Teresa was unable to refute these accusations. These accusations are falsified. The whole thing has been manipulated. The whole country is a mess between the borders and bogus elections. And you have a trial like this where the judge is so conflicted that he can't breathe. He has to do his job and start for me that I can tell you it's a shame and I mean Mother Teresa can't beat these accusations but we'll see, we'll see how we'll do it. It is a very shameful situation. \
Every legal scholar and expert said this is not the case. It should not have been brought and it certainly could have happened seven years ago, not in the middle of the presidential election. It was all done by Joe Biden. This judge has contributed to Joe Biden and much worse than that. But I'm not allowed to talk about it because I have a gag order that's a thousand times worse than that. Worst thing I've ever heard. But I can't talk about it. It will be talked about, but I'm not allowed to talk about it, but it will be talked about in the history books. What's happening here is weaponization at a level no one has ever seen. And this must be allowed to happen. So I'm staying around here. This is five weeks and five weeks where we are essentially not campaigning.”

After nearly a decade of Trump being a part of American politics, it's easy to see where he was going with these comments. When he knows he is in trouble or likely to lose, Trump starts preemptively blaming and apologizing.
The points Trump made in his comments followed the same tone as after he lost the 2020 election. Everything has been manipulated. This is not fair. Someone cheated on him.
Trump seems to know he is going down, and he appears to be trying to minimize the consequences of a possible felony conviction.
