Rachel Maddow showed Trump leading the Republican Party through a national crime scandal.
Maddow, after pointing out that Republican officials in Michigan, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada are all facing criminal charges in connection with Trump's attempted coup, said: “I know that the fact that he is on trial for multiple crimes is an astonishing and unprecedented and is a downright astonishing spectacle. But put a pin in that idea of amazing. Because the crime he allegedly supported in an effort to keep himself in power despite losing an election is now a widespread nationwide scandal that has led to dozens of Republican officials in nearly all swing states being criminally charged . and all prominent attorneys involved in that effort either facing criminal charges, having their law licenses jeopardized, or both.”

Maddow brought up the point that almost everyone seems to miss. Trump is the quarterback of team GOP crime, but the party came along with him. This means that the Republican Party itself is now a criminal operation at the federal, state, and even local levels.
Donald Trump is the headliner of the crime wave, but there is an entire tour group reportedly committing crimes at his side.
No one should believe that if Trump leaves tomorrow the Republican Party would return to normal. The Republican Party has mutated its party DNA in Trump's image. Crime is part of who they are now, and getting rid of the source won't make the infection go away completely.
