If you named your baby Emma or Liam last year, you're not alone.
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene released its annual list of the most popular baby names in the five boroughs on Tuesday, and Emma and Liam came in at the top.

The city's birth records show 388 Emmas and 739 Liams were born in 2022, the Department of Health said.
Liam has been the top name for boys since 2016 and Emma has been the top choice for girls since 2017.
After Liam, the most popular boy names, in order, were Noah, Ethan, Lucas, David, Jacob, Aiden, Joseph, Daniel and Alexander.
Alexander reached the top 10 last year, taking the spot that previously belonged to Benjamin.
For girls, the most common names after Emma were, in order, Mia, Olivia, Sophia, Leah, Ava, Esther, Isabella, Luna and Amelia.
Nine of the top ten girls' names were the same in 2022 as in 2021, the Ministry of Health said. Esther moved up to seventh place, pushing Sofia off the list.
However, the department noted that if Sofia and Sophia were counted as one name, it would have been the most popular name in 2022.
In total, city data shows that 99,459 babies were born in the five boroughs in 2022. There were 39,320 babies born in Manhattan, 11,048 in the Bronx, 23,318 in Brooklyn, 20,109 in Queens and 5,664 on Staten Island, according to the health department.
“What makes our city special are the New Yorkers – big and small – who call the five boroughs home,” said the city's health commissioner, Dr. Ashwin Vasan, in a statement. “So welcome Emma, Liam, Mia, Noah and everyone. the other newborns to New York. Our city and world are better for your presence in the new year and beyond.”
