Marxist tyrant NY AG Letitia James loses bid to move pregnancy care center lawsuit to Manhattan | The Gateway expert

The Gateway Pundit reported that Marxist tyrant New York AG Letitia James recently notified pro-life pregnancy centers of possible lawsuits over allegedly misleading statements about “abortion pill reversal” (APR) protocols.

On April 22, James' office sent “Notice of Intention to Sue” threatening letters to at least a dozen pregnancy support organizations that offer or share information about the APR protocol. The centers were given just five days to respond.

A collective of pregnancy support organizations is now suing the AG to block the threatened prosecutions.

Several pro-life pregnancy support organizations represented by Thomas More Society, has filed suit against the AG to block the threatened prosecution.

The attorneys for the Thomas More Society are asking for court intervention against the Attorney General's threatened legal action to protect the constitutional rights of Heartbeat International and the collective of pregnancy support organizations – many of which are part of the Abortion Pill Rescue® Network of Heartbeat International, or otherwise provide information about April. At its core, James' threatened lawsuit seeks to illegally silence Heartbeat International and its network member organizations from sharing their science-based, life-affirming message about the benefits, success, effectiveness and safety of APR.

On May 24, 2024, James' attempt to move the trial against her from the Rochester venue to the New York County Court in Manhattan, where the atmosphere is likely to be friendlier to her Marxist ways, was rejected by Supreme Court Justice Sam Valleriani New York. .

Valleriani issued the consolidation order on May 24, 2024, to combine a lawsuit James filed against pregnancy support organizations in Manhattan, New York, with the previously filed case filed by the organizations in Monroe County Court in Rochester.

Peter Breen, executive vice president and head of litigation for the Thomas More Society, said: “Over the past month, Letitia James has attempted to illegally frighten and harass New York's maternity organizations by threatening them with lawsuits if they continue to speak their truthful message about Abortion Pill Reversal. We filed a lawsuit in Rochester, close to where most organizations are headquartered and operate.”

Breen continued, “Rather than agree to an appropriate location, James then sued these Manhattan charities, despite the fact that none of the organizations are located there. We are pleased that the Monroe County court has agreed that the cases should be consolidated and heard in Rochester, the 'most fair, convenient and logistically convenient location,' rather than in Manhattan, which is unrelated to the case.”

“We look forward to defending Heartbeat International, CompassCare and all New York pregnancy support organizations targeted by James' unconstitutional witch hunt. New Yorkers deserve to know that abortion pill reversal is not only possible, but safe and effective, and our clients have the right to share that truth with women undergoing chemical abortions that they do not want to continue.
