Copperfield, 67, faced similar charges in 2018.

This is evident from a study by GuardianThe sixteen alleged incidents took place as early as the 1980s and as recently as 2014.

Also disturbing was the revelation that at least half of Copperfield's accusers claimed to be under 18 when the alleged incidents occurred. Some of Copperfield's accusers claimed they were only 15 at the time of the alleged misconduct.

Copperfield was charged with “drug[ing] three women before he had sexual relations with them that they thought they could not consent to.

Four other accusers alleged they were groped or made to “sexually touch” the famed illusionist during live performances on stage.

According to an investigation by The Guardian, the sixteen alleged incidents took place as early as 1988 and most recently in 2014.

“I would never just say this to someone if I didn't really believe I was drugged at the time,” one alleged victim told the Guardian during their investigation.

Another accuser alleged that Copperfield “squeezed her breast” after calling her on stage during a performance at the MGM Grand in January 2014.

Although that accuser reported the alleged incident to MGM and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, law enforcement ultimately closed the case due to “insufficient evidence.”

A representative for Copperfield has since denied the latest allegations against the magician in a lengthy statement released Wednesday morning.

Copperfield “denied any wrongdoing” and his representative insisted that the accused “has never acted inappropriately toward anyone, let alone anyone who is a minor.” Copperfield's representative also said the new allegations were “not only completely false, but completely unbelievable.”

“Anyone who knows David Copperfield will tell you that these recent allegations from one newspaper are the exact opposite of who David is,” the entertainer's Copperfield rep said. “David even has a reputation for risking his career to help protect women from powerful predators.”

“Most of these historical accusations have been made before, and they are all as false now as they were then,” the representative continued. “David asked for the 'evidence' on which these false allegations claim to be based, and this has not been provided.”

“Whenever U.S. law enforcement agencies have investigated such cases, they have instead been thoroughly investigated and found that there is simply no case that can be answered,” the magician's rep added. “The Guardian's characterization is not who David is, and he continues to support anyone who has experienced any form of abuse or discrimination.”
