Trump was found guilty on Thursday of all 34 counts of falsifying corporate records in the first degree. Each charge carries a maximum prison sentence of four years. In total, Trump faces a maximum sentence of 136 years.
Moments after the jury's verdict was delivered, the former president spoke to reporters in the hallway outside the courtroom.
“This was a shame. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt, like a rigged trial and a disgrace. It wouldn't give us a change of venue,” Trump said. “We were at 5% or 6% in this district, in this area. This was a rigged, shameful process.”
Trump said: “The real judgment will be pronounced by the people on November 5.”
