Illegal immigrants entering the United States at the southern border were spotted asking for a ride from Lyft because they grew tired of waiting for Border Patrol agents to come pick them up.
Fox News was on the ground in Jacumba, California, observing migrants who had entered across the southern border waiting several hours to be picked up and processed by Border Patrol agents.
Some Colombians were tired of waiting for the FBI to come pick them up, so they called a ride through the ride-sharing app and got into the car when it arrived.

It was not clear whether the driver knew they were picking up illegal immigrants.
The moment is a glimpse of how overwhelmed Border Patrol agents have been while still dealing with large numbers in the San Diego sector.
Fox witnessed groups of illegal immigrants from Pakistan, China, India and Turkey wandering around. There was little help for Border Patrol from the liberal state of California, in stark contrast to Texas, which has launched its own operation to build infrastructure and prevent illegal immigrants from entering the US.
The lack of security even shocked some illegal immigrants. A Turkish migrant, who told Fox he paid about $10,000 to a cartel, said Americans should be concerned about what he saw.

“In fact, the American people are right, very true. Who's coming into this country? They don't know. Okay, I'm fine. But what if they're not fine? What if they're murderers, psychopaths, or otherwise? ” ? No guarantee for that.”
“Like no security, no security checks, no background checks,” the migrant said, referring to his crossing into the United States.

He said he was concerned about who was crossing the border because “people are not normal.”
He told Fox News that his journey to the US took him 24 days and that he traveled through Qatar, Dubai, Egypt, South Africa and Brazil before arriving in Central America to get to the US.

The scenes came as a bipartisan border package failed again in the Senate, with even some of the bill's authors voting against it.
