Watch Apple kick off WWDC 2024 here

Apple will kick off its weeklong World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) event on June 10 at 10am ET/7am PT with its usual keynote. The presentation will focus on the company's software offering and the developers responsible for it, including the latest versions. from iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS and watchOS.

You can watch the stream on Apple's events page. There is a flow also on YouTube, but that tends to lag a bit.

In recent years, critics have noted that the company has so far fallen behind the likes of Google, Microsoft and OpenAI when it comes to generative AI research. CEO Tim Cook has been promising to address this concern for some time, and there's no better time and place than at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino during WWDC.

Rumors currently point to it towards a possible deal with GPT developer OpenAI, aimed at a somewhat level playing field. And there are a lot of rumors going around about the AI improvements coming to iOS 18.

New hardware, meanwhile, has never been a guarantee at the software-focused event, although the company has made it a trend in recent years, thanks to Apple Silicon updates and last year's big Vision Pro debut.

Most recent rumorsHowever, suggest that this will be an off-year for hardware, despite mounting pressure after a lukewarm reception for it Apple's first swing against mixed reality and the decision to abandon its electric car project.

JS will report on the ground at Apple Park, bringing you the news as it happens.
