Trump's embattled prosecutor is fighting to keep his job in Georgia among the five states holding elections on Tuesday

Four states — Georgia, Kentucky, Idaho and Oregon — will hold primaries Tuesday, including several showdowns in Congress that could mark key contests in the fall battle for control of the House of Representatives.

And in a move that will give Republicans some breathing room while protecting their fragile, razor-thin majority, voters in a California congressional district will choose a successor to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

But potentially drawing the most attention during a day of coast-to-coast competition will be a county prosecutor in Atlanta.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is leading the prosecution of former President Donald Trump in his 2020 election interference case, is facing a Democratic primary challenge from attorney Christian Wise Smith in a rematch of their race four years ago.

Willis has been widely criticized for her handling of the sweeping racketeering case against Trump's alleged attempt to overturn his narrow 2020 election loss to President Biden in Georgia.

Nearly two months ago, a judge ruled that Willis could continue to lead the prosecution of the case as long as Nathan Wade — a special prosecutor she appointed and had a romantic relationship with — resigned.

Willis is expected to fend off a challenge in the primary from local attorney Christian Wise Smith, but he will likely face more attacks in the general election from Republican Courtney Kramer, a lawyer who interned for Trump.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who is the judge in the Trump case, is also up for re-election and faces a challenge from attorney and radio host Robert Patillo in a nonpartisan race.

SPEAKER JOHNSON BEARS 'DECORUM' AT HOME AFTER MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE SPARS WITH DEMOCRATS

With no gubernatorial or Senate races scheduled in Georgia this year, the state's 14 congressional districts will get the top billing.

Controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a high-profile Trump ally, is running unopposed in the Republican Party's primary in Georgia's 14th Congressional District, in the deeply conservative northwest corner of the state.

Four Democrats face off in the race to take on Greene in November.

Trump is taking sides in the Republican Party's primary for the open seat in Georgia's third district, in central-west Georgia. The former president is backing former adviser Brian Jack, who is running against five rivals in the far-right field in the solidly red district.

Two incumbent Democrats in redrawn districts in metro Atlanta — Reps. Lucy McBath and David Scott are facing primary challengers. That includes Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk.

In Oregon, it's a battle between the progressive and establishment wings of the Democratic Party in two congressional primaries.

GOP HOPES TO KEEP HOUSE MAY COME TO SIX RACES

Two candidates face off in the race to replace longtime Democratic Rep. Earl Blumenauer in the heavily blue, Portland-anchored 3rd Congressional District.

And in the 5th District, a crucial swing district that extends south of Portland's suburbs and will likely help determine whether the Republican Party can maintain its majority, Democrats will choose a candidate to take on Republican Rep. Lori Chavez— DeRemer, who narrowly won two. years ago.

Meanwhile, Republicans will choose nominees in the state's 4th and 6th Districts, where the GOP will look to flip blue seats to red in November.

South of Oregon, in California, there are special Republican Congressional elections to fill out the remainder of McCarthy's term in the heavily red 20th District, located in the southern part of the state's Central Valley.

Vince Fong, a state lawmaker and former McCarthy district director, has the support of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives as well as Trump in his battle against Mike Boudreaux, a local sheriff.

The winner will fill the seat for the rest of the year and will receive an immediate boost from Republicans' current 217-213 majority.

The race to watch in Kentucky is the Republican primary in the 4th Congressional District, where Rep. Thomas Massie — who endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the GOP presidential primary and pushed with Greene to become the current House Speaker Reps. Mike Johnson to impeach – faces challenge from Trump supporter Eric Deters.

Kentucky and Oregon also hold presidential primaries on Tuesday.
