Stock futures were little changed Monday morning as traders began a shortened holiday week.

Futures linked to the Dow Jones Jones Industrial Average fell 67 points, or 0.2%. S&P 500 futures hovered near the flatline while Nasdaq 100 Futures 0.2% added.

The major averages were mixed last week, with the blue-chip Dow posting its third losing week in four, while the S&P and Nasdaq rallied to record highs and recorded their seventh gain in the last eight weeks.

This week, investors will assess whether that rally can continue as cracks appear in the market outlook.

“There are really these two themes… investors are trying to capitalize on this year,” NB Private's Shannon Saccocia told CNBC's “Closing Bell” on Friday. “One was the secular AI theme and the other was the idea of manufacturing, reshoring and, frankly, continued strong economic growth.”

“We're seeing a little bit of weaker economic data and maybe you get a breather or a sigh that this… reacceleration from a manufacturing and industrial perspective might be slower than what we're seeing from an AI perspective,” she says. added.

This week will be a shortened holiday week, with markets closed on Wednesday for the June bank holiday.

Investors will be keeping an eye on May retail sales data, due Tuesday, as well as home sales and home starts data later in the week. Lennar, Kroger, Darden Restaurants and CarMax will report quarterly earnings.
