Judge wanted to “make someone an example” Now J6er Julio Baquero returns home with stage 4 cancer… Help Julio and his young family below | The Gateway expert

Julio Baquero

Last month, April 2024, Julio Baquero was at the end of his 18-month prison sentence for disorderly conduct on January 6 when he found out he had been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer.

As he waited for the judge to grant an emergency request to let him go home, his high school sweetheart and the three loving children they share (ages 10, 11 and 20) waited anxiously to see how the judge would decide to grant him compassionate release. .

Before Julio was born, his parents fled the grip of socialism from Venezuela and came to America, where they gave birth to him in Los Angeles, California. When he was only six years old, his father left his mother and left her with three children to work multiple jobs and sometimes live in the car and go to food banks in local churches, but God and her children were always on to put first. .

She taught them how great America was and about the dangers of socialism. Julio grew up very proud as an American. I like the flag and country music.

At the age of 10, he and his family moved to the free state of Florida. After many years of hard work, Julio's mother was finally able to buy her first house and the American Dream when he was only 14 years old.

At 19, Julio and his high school sweetheart had their first child. A little boy, who puts forward his name as Julio Baquero, III. They would have 2 more children. A loving father who worked to support his family, Julio rose from fiber optic specialist on large ships to stair fitter. When the Plandemic hit, just as his mother worked hard to provide for him and his siblings, Julio began driving for Uber to continue providing for his family while putting God and his children first.

During the rally in Washington, DC on January 6, Julio walked into the Capitol and walked out moments later as the door was held open by Capitol Police.

A few months later, Julio and his family would be woken up at gunpoint by the FBI, with more than a dozen agents at the door. Guns were pointed at his children and his eldest son was placed in handcuffs (only 18 years old at the time and not present at the rally).

This dedicated family man, father of three and volunteer little league coach for thirteen years with no criminal record, was now threatened with five to eight years in prison if he did not sign the plea deal presented to him.

For two years, Julio's judge handed out sentences of six to eight months for the same thing Julio pleaded guilty to, but at his sentencing the judge said, “I have to make an example of someone” and he chose Juilo to do this. He sentenced him to 18 months in prison, for which most people, if not all, get probation.

It doesn't stop here; things get worse for Julio. This proud father of three was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer last month, while in prison with only a few months left before he goes home. During many long months of incarceration since Julio's arrest, his sweet heart from high school waited for him to come home and she carried the total burden with the house and the kids and the Commissary's cover for Julio while he was in jail. Instead of being happy with Julio returning home as a full-time father, the family is now faced with astronomical medical bills to help save Julio's health. The path forward involves lost time at work, time thinly spread between taking care of the kids, the house, and supporting Julio in the hospital.

They need help urgently.

Fortunately, the judge ruled favorably and Julio was compassionately released from prison very shortly after his diagnosis. Unfortunately, in the short month and a half since his release, he has been hospitalized several times, undergoing two procedures to stabilize him.

Just over a week ago he had lost so much weight that he was too weak to start chemotherapy to treat the cancer and the hospital needed to get his numbers good enough to start chemotherapy. This past week he underwent his first treatment and continues to be hospitalized under the careful supervision of doctors.

The road ahead is bumpy and Julio's high school sweetheart will continue to carry the burden but remain strong in their faith in the Lord.

This family needs our help and we show up in their time of need. This is a call to “We the People” to stand up for this faith-based family. They've been doing this alone long enough.

A fundraiser was held by their eldest son, Julio Baquero, III here.

His son shared:

“I created this fund to help my J6er father fight stage 4 cancer. He has been imprisoned since August 2023 for his presence in the capital on January 6. He was non-violent and, like many others, walked around as a tourist. This month (April 2024) we found out that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 and our family needs help with this financially devastating situation. We are investigating the medical costs and will update here once we have a clear view. In the meantime, our family needs help with housing costs and daily living. We appreciate any help, every dollar counts, no matter how small. God is good and we keep my father in our prayers and we ask if there is anything you can do at all is pray for him. Thank you so much. God bless.”

Please consider giving what you can to help this patriot, his high school sweetheart and their 3 children.

Please pray for them and share this story with others.

May God bless Julio, his family and the USA.
