Ex-aide says Melania Trump is very interested in being part of the process

Stephanie Grisham, a former aide to Melania Trump, said Monday that the former first lady will take a keen interest in developments in her husband Donald Trump's hush money lawsuit.

CNN's Erin Burnett noted how David Pecker — who, as former publisher of the National Enquirer during his 2016 campaign, oversaw the “capture and killing” of potentially damaging stories about Trump — admitted in court Monday that he had a private e-mail email account for things he “I didn't want my assistant to see it.”

Burnett asked Grisham if Melania Trump is “prepared” for the possibility that more embarrassing details about her husband could emerge from that email account.

The presumptive GOP nominee's case centers on the alleged falsification of business documents to cover up hush money paid to porn actor Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to keep her silent about their previous alleged affair.

“I can guarantee she is watching every ounce of coverage and when it happens [about Pecker’s private email] When it came out, it piqued her interest,” Grisham, who served as chief of staff and press secretary to Melania Trump, told Burnett.

“Melania is very much about proof, showing proof, and so if any more damaging things were to come out that she didn't know about, because of course her husband continues to deny all the details here, especially about Stormy,” she added.

“If any other things come out, I think that will be very interesting to watch because you can't really dispute things that are in writing and that's something she's always paid a lot of attention to, was the evidence” , Grisham said.

Elsewhere in the segment above, Grisham questioned a report that Melania Trump had privately called the trial a “disgrace” that amounted to election interference ahead of the 2024 election.

“If that were the case, she would at least show it on X.” She would say something,” Grisham said. “Melania Trump is absolutely doing what she wants to do. And if she thought this was a shame, she said something about it.”

Instead, Melania Trump took to social media Monday to promote her new $245 “Love & Gratitude” necklace.

“Nothing on the websites indicates that the money raised is going to charity or anything like that,” says Burnett, asking what the money can be used for.

Grisham responded, “So I'm trying not to laugh at the thought of her raising money for his defense. I'm so sorry, there's no way it will be.”

Instead, Melania Trump will “do it for herself,” she said.

Grisham said she told the ex-FLOTUS that selling jewelry at the start of her husband's criminal trial “is probably not a good look” and also suggested she donate the profits to charity.
