Brittney and Cherelle Griner reveal baby's name and baby shower videos

Brittney and Cherelle Griner exclusively shared videos from their baby shower with “CBS Mornings” on Wednesday and revealed they are having a boy. The couple also announced the name of their baby.

In the shower, the WNBA superstar and her pregnant wife played games, including a race to see who can finish a baby bottle the fastest and dressing a baby doll while blindfolded.

They also revealed that their son will be named Bash, CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King revealed.

Last month, the couple announced on social media that they were expecting their first child together in July. “I can't believe we're less than three months away from meeting our favorite human,” they wrote, sharing an image of an ultrasound.

Griner, 33, made headlines in 2022 when she was arrested in Russia after a search of her luggage at a Moscow airport revealed vape cartridges.

Griner, who played basketball in the WNBA in the offseason in Russia, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nine years in prison. She was held for ten months and was released from Russia in December 2022, following negotiations between Washington and Moscow. a prisoner exchange. Russian arms dealer Victor Bout was released from US custody in exchange for Grinner.

Upon her return to the US, Griner re-signed with the Phoenix Mercury, the team she has played for since being a first-round pick and first overall draft pick in 2013. no longer plays abroad during the low season.

Earlier this month, Griner has released a memoir'Coming Home', about her 'unfathomable' experience in Russian prison.

Her wife, 31, is an attorney who studied at North Carolina Central University School of Law and was recognized in 2022 as the highest pro-bono honoree for her work at the school's pro bono clinic, which provides free legal services to those in need.
