Biden regime halts ammunition deliveries to Israel as advisers panic over electoral threat from anti-Israel Democrats | The Gateway expert

The Biden administration has halted ammunition deliveries to Israel in an attempt to calm growing anger among the left of the Democratic Party over US support for the war against Hamas.

According to a report from Axios, the decision to halt the ammunition shipment caused panic among Israeli security forces and is intended to prevent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from proceeding with an invasion of Rafah.

Axios Notes:

The Biden administration halted a shipment of American ammunition to Israel last week, two Israeli officials told Axios. It is the first time since the October 7 attack that the US has stopped an arms shipment for the Israeli army.

The incident raised serious concerns within the Israeli government and left officials scrambling to understand why the shipment was being held, Israeli officials said.

The report adds that Biden made the decision in response to the “sharp criticism” he is facing from Americans, especially among Muslims and other demographic groups critical to the Democratic coalition:

President Biden is facing sharp criticism from Americans who oppose his support for Israel. The government asked Israel in February to provide guarantees that weapons manufactured by the Israeli forces in Gaza were used in accordance with international law. Israel provided a signed letter of guarantee in March.

The Biden administration is deeply concerned that Israel will invade the southern Gaza city of Rafah, where more than a million displaced Palestinians have taken refuge.

In recent weeks, many American universities have come to a standstill amid widespread demonstrations by anti-Israel activists. Many of the protests degenerated into violence and law enforcement was needed to put an end to the chaos.

Netanyahu, meanwhile, issued a statement on Sunday to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, suggesting tensions with the US and declaring that Israel will act alone if necessary.

“During the terrible Holocaust, there were great world leaders who stood idly by; therefore, the first lesson of the Holocaust is: if we do not defend ourselves, no one will defend us,” he declared. “And if we have to stand alone, we will stand alone.”

“That is why we will defend ourselves in every possible way,” he continued. “We will conquer our enemies and we will guarantee our security – in the Gaza Strip, on the Lebanese border, everywhere.
