Biden camp: Billionaires like Musk consider Trump 'a loser'

President Biden's re-election campaign argued Thursday that billionaires view former President Trump as a useful “sucker” who will cut his taxes.

The Biden campaign responded to a Wall Street Journal report that Tesla CEO Elon Musk could take on an advisory role in the White House if Trump is elected in November, as a way for Musk to have “formal input” on policies in the field of economics and the economy. the border.

“Despite what Donald Trump thinks, America is not for sale to billionaires, oil and gas executives, or even Elon Musk,” Biden campaign spokesman James Singer said in a statement.

“Trump is selling America to pay his legal bills and put himself in power, while all the billionaires like Elon see that they are suckers: they know that if they spare him the campaign checks, he will cut their taxes while cutting Social Security and other benefits. for the middle class,” Singer added.

The Hill has reached out to Trump's campaign for comment.

The Biden campaign made it clear that Trump has done that reportedly made promises to wealthy donors, including cutting taxes and supporting policies that benefit billionaires. Trump raised $50 million for his campaign last month at a fundraiser hosted by hedge fund billionaire John Paulson in Palm Beach, Florida.

Singer argued that Biden, unlike Trump, is a champion for the middle class.

“Joe Biden has spent his career standing up to people like Elon and fighting for the middle class — and that's why he will win in November,” Singer said.
